Care guides are written as a synthesis, not copied from a single shop, breeder or care sheet. Wherever suitable material exists, we compare multiple independent references across specialist husbandry organisations, experienced keeper resources, veterinary or academic publications and natural-history databases.
Taxonomy and distribution are checked separately from captive-care advice using authorities such as the World Spider Catalog, Catalogue of Life and GBIF where relevant. Retailer care information may contribute practical context, but it is not treated as the sole authority. Source links appear on individual guides so readers can review the underlying material.
Handling disagreement
Temperature, humidity, adult size and temperament estimates often vary between references. We use ranges, explain meaningful differences and avoid presenting uncertain or locality-dependent information as a precise universal rule.
Limits of a care guide
Environmental needs vary with species, life stage, enclosure, season and local conditions. Published ranges are guidance rather than a substitute for direct observation or qualified veterinary advice.
