PRACTICAL HUSBANDRY
Day-to-day care
Diet & prey
Crickets, roaches, locusts (sized appropriately to the spider's abdomen)
Feeding
Once a week for juveniles; every 10–14 days for adults
Enclosure
Arboreal setup; vertical orientation with height prioritized over floor space (minimum height roughly 3x the spider's leg span)
Substrate
2 to 3 inches of moisture-retentive tropical substrate (e.g., coconut fiber or peat mix)
Ventilation
Critical requirement. Excellent cross-ventilation is mandatory to prevent stagnant, damp air
Hydration & misting
Keep a shallow water dish filled; lightly mist one side of the enclosure occasionally, allowing it to dry out between mistings
Handling
Generally docile and calm, but fast and flighty. Prone to sudden leaps, and falls can be fatal due to their delicate build, so handling is generally discouraged
Sex differences
emales typically have a longer lifespan; mature males feature tibial hooks and a smaller, slender build
